Prayer

On a recent Friday morning as I awoke I heard a small still voice say the word, “prayer.” I thought it might be the answer to a prayer I had prayed the night before.

Prayer is a powerful tool and to know that we are speaking directly with God is awesome. We should regularly go into deep prayer, and all our prayers should be fervent. We should never fail to praise God before going over our list of desires. That gets God’s attention. He inhabits the praise of his people. When we praise Him, He goes into action on our behalf. He literally fights our battles for us.

We should pray to God for not only our needs, but for the needs we see around us. When we pray we should always submit to God’s will, regardless of how much we want something. God sees the end from the beginning. And if His plan differs from ours, then we should adhere to His plan. His plan is always the best. We’re seeing through earthly eyes which restricts our vision.

In 1 Corinthians 2:9, we read:

No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
And no mind has imagined
What God has prepared
For those who love him.
(NLT)

We should not be afraid to ask God for what is on our heart.

God has asked me to pray fervently for this world. I urge each of you to become prayer warriors, if you’re not already. As I said earlier, prayer is a powerful tool. It can turn a situation around. I think prayer can change a hurting world.

God has also asked me to go into deep prayer. Deep prayer reminds me of Jesus when He prayed so intensely in the Garden of Gethsemane His sweat became drops of blood. I believe that God’s request means there is a great and urgent need for prayer for this world. Join me and let’s go into deep and fervent prayer for this hurting world.
